New York, October 6, 2006 – After extensive field-testing and trials conducted by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, ACC Systems Inc., a global distributor of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) products, was awarded a contract to produce a ruggedized custom handheld adapter for the HP iPAQ*. The new ACC7100 will be the next generation of units deployed by the military to enhance medical situational awareness by utilizing TacMedCS (Tactical Medical Coordination System). TacMedCS is the first medical system to collect and track casualty data from the field using RFID and satellite technology. The casualty data is transmitted to a centralized military database via an integrated satellite modem. TacMedCS software was developed by Scenpro, Inc. of Richardson, Texas (www.scenpro.com).

Based on years of RFID and Satellite modem experience, the ACC7100 is being designed and integrated by ACC Systems engineers at their manufacturing facilities in Glen Head, NY. This specially designed unit for the U.S. Navy/Marine Corps features a new rugged design for protection against shock, dust and water. It will be able to read and write to RFID wristbands worn by casualties and refugees and transmit real-time data via an Iridium satellite modem.

ACC Systems Inc. is an international distributor of RFID products for government and industry with manufacturing capability to custom design, engineer and manufacture products using RFID, GPS and Wireless technology. (www.accsystemsinc.com)
